Arctic Monkeys are sorry they were late! Perhaps in the spirit of their "too profound" counterparts, the 1975's mard with Noel Gallagher, they've revived their fan-favourite 2006 track "Mardy Bum."

The song hadn't seen the light of day since 2013, though it's been even longer since the Monkeys played it in its original form. Since 2007, it has only appeared live in a softer, more laid-back iteration — until yesterday (May 29).

The band opened their Monday night set at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, UK, with the song, with the crowd erupting in a singalong of the Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not chune. It's safe to say no one had that silent disappointment face. Watch it below.

Fans can try their luck at hearing "Mardy Bum" on Arctic Monkey's upcoming North American tour. Until then, revisit our conversation with Alex Turner about the band's latest record, The Car.
