It's rare that a big night in Canadian politics lends itself to lots of Canadian music news, but here we are. While Mark Carney celebrated his win by getting Down with Webster, Green Party co-leader Elizabeth May declined to address supporters about the polls until the full results came in. Alternatively, she decided to use the spotlight to sing a duet with her husband, John Kidder.
With Kidder on guitar, the couple performed a song that May said she and her husband used to sing together early on in their relationship while walking in Sidney, BC. It's certainly an eccentric performance, but it sure beats a boring speech. Watch it below.
May was able to hang onto her seat in her riding of Saanich–Gulf Islands for a fifth term. It's the only seat that the Greens have secured in Parliament.
