Vivian Girls Robbed in San Francisco, Scramble for Passports for Japan/Australia Tour

Among all the financial stress and cabin fever that comes with being in a touring band, an unfortunate issue that people have to deal with is stealing. And it breaks our heart to say that the latest band to be robbed on tour are Brooklyn-based punk pop trio Vivian Girls.

The band, who are currently on tour in support of their second album Everything Falls Apart, played a show in San Francisco last night (September 10), and tweeted the following, "Just got robbed. Great. How can I get a new passport by Monday morning?" They followed up the message earlier today with, "Thanks for all of the advice! I have a passport appointment in Honolulu! See you tonight, L.A."

The reason they need their passports is that Vivian Girls are set to leave for a swarm of shows in Japan and Australia next week. We're assuming they'll make a stop-over in Hawaii to get their passports dealt with before they leave the continent.

UPDATE: Vivian Girls' camp has confirmed that Katy's laptop and passport were swiped while in a friend's car. But the good news is that "They're all ok, no one was attacked or held up or anything," says the group's publicist. And best of all, the tour is still on, so rest easy Japan and Australia.
