Violent Reaction

'Marching On' (album sampler)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 5, 2015

Liverpool outfit Violent Reaction are about to let loose their ferocious blend of hardcore on this side of the pond via the release of their Revelation Records debut Marching On. They've been letting a few peeks of the LP slip through the cracks ahead of the March 31 release, and you can find them up on Bandcamp.

A three-song sampler perfectly encapsulates Violent Reaction's punishing approach, which the mangles together the rough-necked early '80s American hardcore style of Negative Approach with elements of vintage UK street punk (think Blitz). The title track surges with a skank-tacular rhythm and gruff and grisly gang chants. "Leave Me Out," meanwhile, is a high-speed salvo made in the name straight edge. "War" has Tom Pimlott ready to settle a score, with the rest of the band offering up dive-bombs, detonator drums and more.

Lambgoat have also premiered the album's destructive "No Pride." You'll find streams of all four songs down below.
