Various Doghouse 100
Published Feb 01, 2004
Worth the low cost if you dont already own the records most of these tracks have been culled from, this, the 100th release from Toledo-based Doghouse Records, offers an excellent snapshot of the labels stellar current roster. Kicking things off with an unreleased track from Doghouses biggest name, the All-American Rejects, "The Cigarette Song is arguably the strongest track on the album, with a bouncy acoustic power pop feel mixed with atypical song structure. The remainder of the unreleased material six tracks total is slightly more mixed, with Gameface offering us a fairly good explanation of why they recently broke up and Say Anything proving that their unique sound extends beyond their album-only material. The previously released material is as solid as you would expect from Doghouse, but its the unheard gems that make this compilation worth picking up.
