After eight years, Vancouver electro-pop duo Rococode are calling it a day. The duo of Andrew Braun and Laura Smith are bringing their project to an end, but not before releasing two final songs.

A press release confirms that the upcoming two-song Something Stranger  release will be the band's "final musical offering." Rococode won't be playing any more tour dates, and tey said in a statement:

In the last year of wrestling with how to punctuate this phase of our lives, we kept coming back to these two songs. Seeing them through went a long way in helping us understand and articulate how we have changed, how we have stayed the same, and what is important in our lives.

Something Stranger consists of "Stranger" and "Something About It." The former is said to be a "haunting, dark love song" while the latter has a "laid back bouncy vibe." Both songs feature synths from Calgary's National Music Centre, plus engineering help from Ryan Dahle (Mounties, Limblifter).

The release will arrive digitally on Friday (December 7). That's the cover artwork above.

Rococode formed as an indie-rock four-piece, but they pared down to a more synth-centric duo. Over the past eight years, they released two albums — Don't Worry It Will Be Dark Soon in 2016 and Guns, Sex & Glory in 2012 — plus a smattering of EPs and singles.
