Vancouver's Pretty Eyes for Captain America Shares 'The Secret City' Full-Length

Although 2019 hasn't even started yet, the Kingfisher Bluez label is setting the tone with an early release of Secret City, the debut full-length from Vancouver's Pretty Eyes for Captain America.

The project belongs to Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Calen Degnan, and Secret City puts Degnan's skills on display across 10 tracks.

Here's how Kingfisher Bluez describes the release:

The Secret City is his debut full length, and it is packed with guitar histrionics, canned drum sounds, and layers of melodies that bear all the influences of the 90s indie rock that he grew up listening to, with the lyrics touching on the nostalgia of Summer's ending, small town life, and missed opportunities. The ten songs collected here are disguised as bedroom-DIY-indie but come so packed with earworm hooks that after a few listens you'll end up humming to yourself the chorus of "Books + Bills"- "It's not that you never came home / there's a leak in my soul, where the joy keeps on going".
