Unheard Prince Material Leaked via Mysterious Twitter Account

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 7, 2013

Prince is a notorious internet-hater, having promised to stop recording albums until piracy is curbed and even sending a cease and desist letter to an online tribute art project. That's why we're surprised to learn of the existence of a new Twitter account featuring some unheard music from the Purple One.

As of press time, the Twitter handle @3rdeyegirl has been active for less than 24 hours. In that time, whoever is behind the account has posted a handful of songs from YouTube, including an unreleased song called "Same Page Different Book," an alternate mix of "Rock and Roll Love Affair," an extended version of "Laydown," and what appears to be a rehearsal video of "Bambi."

So who is this so-called 3rd Eye Girl? The poster's Twitter description reads, "International Art Thief. Everything you think is true. Underground. Soon to be above." A recent tweet about the likelihood of getting sued implies that this is unofficial and unsanctioned, although the bevy of unheard material is bound to lead some to speculate that it's all a marketing stunt.

One tweet features a picture of Prince and reads, "my father." Make of that what you will.

If 3rd Eye Girl is posting without Prince's permission, she (or he) can probably expect a cease and desist letter to arrive sooner rather than later. In the meantime, listen to the newly shared songs below (and be forewarned that they may not be online for long).

Thanks to Antiquiet for the tip.
