Remember that ridiculous U2 scored Spider-Man musical we were talking about a while back? It seemed a little too bizarre to be real, right? Well, it most certainly is, and to prove it we have both a title and a release date for you!
The web-slinging theatre piece is called Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and will be hitting Broadway on February 18, 2010, with preview showings beginning January 16. While little is known about the plot or cast, the piece is directed by Across The Universe director Julie Taymor and might involve Universe stars Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood. Either way, it should be pretty epic, as Billboard is reporting a $31 million budget attached to the project.
Besides penning Broadway numbers about a web-slinging hero who lives with his aunt, U2 also have a little album coming out called No Line On The Horizon on March 3.
