This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of U2's Achtung Baby, and the mega-successful group are celebrating the occasion with a documentary and an enormous box set. Now, U2 have announced another retrospective release: an Achtung Baby covers album.

In a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival, Bono revealed that the collection will feature Jack White ("Love Is Blindness"), Patti Smith ("Until the End of the World"), Depeche Mode ("So Cruel") and Damien Rice ("One"), among others.

As Rolling Stone reports, Bono said, "It's strange, because when I hear the album, when U2 do it, all I hear is what's wrong with it. But when I heard all these artists doing it, I thought, 'It's really good.'"

The album was commissioned by the UK's Q Magazine. There's no indication as to when it will be released, but hopefully it will be out before November 19, which is the original release date of Achtung Baby.

David Guggenheim's From the Sky Down documentary premiered on September 8 at TIFF. Showtime will air the film on October 29. Watch a trailer below.
