Tyvek Change Name to TVK, Tour North America

Scrappy Michigan-based garage rockers Tyvek have kept a relatively low profile since releasing their What’s Your Rupture? debut last year. Alongside modest touring, little has been heard from the band about new material. Still, some news has emerged from the Tyvek camp, namely that their official band moniker has changed to TVK, joining the growing list of "disem-voweled” band names like MGMT and MSTRKRFT. Though it’s still pronounced the same, the band were likely coaxed into chaning their name from the construction material company with the name Tyvek.

Fans can catch TVK on the road this fall, with a tour that begins this Friday in Detroit and sees the band power through the States, playing many shows with Vivian Girls, before winding down on October 5 in Montreal — or should I say "MNTRL”?
