Tyler, the Creator's 'Wolf,' the Inaugural Prism Prize, and Justin Bieber vs. Black Keys' Patrick Carney in Our News Roundup
Published Feb 16, 2013Once again we're back with a little weekend news-roundup action. So if you fear something/anything passed you by, come dig in.
First off, it was a rather busy week on the beefs front. First off, Justin Bieber and Black Keys' Patrick Carney traded some very public insults. And while this was hardly what you would call some "hard news," it was pretty funny. And adding to our ongoing Beefs 2013 coverage, we had Azealia Banks getting into yet another nasty online exchange, this time with "Harlem Shake" dude Baauer.
But there was a lot of Canadian music news to report as well. Arcade Fire, Grimes, Drake and more were nominated for the inaugural Prism Prize. July Talk rolled out a Canadian spring tour. And both the Bicycles and Grapes of Wrath emerged from hiatus to announce new albums.
Back on the international front, Skrillex released all the details of his soundtrack to Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, Jay Reatard got treated to another posthumous release, and Odd Future wise ass Tyler, the Creator finally announced his Wolf album, as well as some North American tour dates and a new video.
Finally, it was a pretty bad week for the Little Monsters, as Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her entire tour.
