Recently, we told you that TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek was at work under the name Maximum Balloon and that the project's debut would drop sometime in August, with a number of guest appearances attached. Now, we can confirm both a specific release date and the host of guests that will pepper the album.

According to Pitchfork, the as-yet-untitled album will get a release on August 24 via Geffen/Interscope and will feature variety of guest vocalists, including Karen O, TVOTR's Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone, Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano, Holly Miranda, Theophilus London and David Byrne (though Byrne's contribution has yet to be confirmed).

The album's first single, titled "Tiger," is available to hear both at Maximum Balloon's MySpace here and below. It will be released to iTunes tomorrow (June 15) and that's the cover up there above.

In a recent interview with Brooklyn Vegan, Sitek explained the meaning behind his project's name, relating it to the "idea of when you were a kid and you would put messages in a balloon and just send them out there."

He also dismissed the idea that Maximum Balloon is strictly a solo project, claiming the album was "more like a collaboration. I spare us all from me singing on every track."
