Trent Reznor's 'Call of Duty: Black Ops II' Music Gets Soundtrack Release

We already knew that Nine Inch Nails/How to Destroy Angels guru Trent Reznor had composed an aggressive theme song for the videogame Call of Duty: Black Ops II. But it turns out that you won't need a gaming console in order to hear what he came up with, since the score will receive its own stand-alone release.

The soundtrack, which features over 40 tracks, will be released on iTunes on November 13 — the same day the videogame arrives in stores via Activision/Treyarch. The soundtrack also comes as a bonus with select editions of the game.

While Reznor composed the theme song for the game, he didn't compose the entire score, as the game makers previously suggested. Rather, the score was penned by Jack Wall.

A press release explains, "The music is a reflection of the complex narrative being told by Treyarch, taking players on an audible journey around the world, influenced by the cultures and conflicts that will immerse players in the experience."
