Trent Reznor

'Black Ops 2' Score Preview

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 18, 2012

As previously reported, Nine Inch Nails head honcho Trent Reznor is expanding his scoring career, moving from films like The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to his apparently "aggressively sounding" theme song for upcoming videogame Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. But it appears Reznor has done more than simply write one track for the game, as a new trailer confirms he's done the entire score. The best part is that you can also now sample what Reznor has come up with.

Despite the animated shoot-em-up war scenes interspersed throughout the video, most of the music in the trailer is a little airy, often with synths taking the lead.

The trailer also has the musician expounding upon why he's stoked to score part of the shooter.

"I look at videogames as a true art form," Reznor admits while sitting at a mixing board. "The chance to be involved in something like this is exciting to me. I feel it's every bit as viable as film work or music, or anything else."

Call of Duty: Black Ops II drops November 13 through Activision.
