Trapt Frontman Chris Taylor Brown Invites Alt-Right Group Proud Boys to Dallas Show
He claims "SJWs" are to blame for cancelling one of the band's previously scheduled performances
In the same breath, Brown announced his support of the far-right extremist group Proud Boys — founded by Ottawa native and former Vice media head Gavin McInnes — and invited the group's Dallas chapter to the band's next show in town.
"So [the venue] caved to threats to employees by a few of the under 100 social justice warriors who bitched about Trapt in Dallas & who are also absolute sheep brainwashed by mainstream media," Brown wrote in a tweet. "What a shame. Next Dallas show for Dallas Proud Boys & LE! POYB! See you SJWs there."
His endorsement comes just weeks after President Donald Trump was criticized for failing to denounce the hate group during a September debate with Joe Biden, where he instead gave them a muddled shout out. At the time, Trump told Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by."
Brown is a known Trump supporter and COVID denier, positions that are generally in line with Proud Boys' belief system, so it's unclear which one Brown has taken issue with regarding the cancelled performance. Either way, now Trapt's fanbase won't have to risk their lives and others' to hear "Headstrong" performed in person.
See Brown's tantrum below.

For the 100th time, Proud Boys include members of all races. It's NOT for people who value their racial identity over being an American! Just a group of dudes who are proud of our boy. My mother is as Mexican as it gets. Got way too many pure white dudes throwing the race card🤦🏻♂️— TRAPT (@TRAPTOFFICIAL) October 29, 2020
