Tory Lanez is facing new felony weapons and assault charges over the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. If convicted, he could face almost 23 years in prison.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office released a statement today outlining the charges, with the Canadian artist now being charged with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

He also faces "a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury," according to the district attorney's office.

His arraignment is now set for October 13.

The new charges comes after Lanez recently released his album DAYSTAR — a record he primarily used to claim his innocence over the July 12 incident.

As previously reported, Lanez was already facing concealed weapons charges in connection to the incident, which took place after the pair left a party this summer in the Hollywood Hills. He was also later charged with assault from a separate incident.

While Megan Thee Stallion initially remained silent, she eventually claimed Lanez shot her in the foot following an altercation in his vehicle. In August, Megan confirmed her injuries with a series of gruesome photos of her injured foot after multiple accusations that she lied about getting shot surfaced online.

The LAPD had began investigations into the shooting shortly after the incident, as prosecutors began looking into pressing further charges.
