Toro y Moi Unearths Early Recordings for 7-inch Box Set

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 31, 2012

South Carolina native Chaz Bundick (aka Toro y Moi) has been crafting a diverse back catalogue these last few years, from his chillwave breakthrough Causers of This to the "bouncy funk references" of last year's Underneath the Pine. Before all that, though, the musical chameleon took a stab at spiky lo-fi pop rock, and the results can be heard on an upcoming vinyl box set.

Titled June 2009, the collection of five seven-inches is composed of ten unearthed tracks that previously existed as a self-released CD-R. Carpark will issue the deluxe box, as well as put it out digitally and on CD, on April 24. You can grab a download of "Dead Pontoon" via the widget below, where you'll also see the full tracklisting, for the price of an email.
