For someone so commonly associated with the chillwave movement, Toro y Moi (born Chaz Bundick) sure doesn't chill very often. Instead, the artist has released two albums in the last two years and maintained a busy tour schedule when not working on his Les Sins side-project. Apparently, that's still not enough to get his recorded output out there, as Toro y Moi will release a new EP this fall.
The release is called Freaking Out and was recorded last month when Bundick had some time off from his rigorous touring. A press release calls the five-song, 20-minute release "Toro y Moi's most concentrated venture into pure dance floor hedonism," citing the Gap Band, Mtume and Teddy Riley as sonic cues.
Freaking Out will be available on September 13 via Carpark Records. In the meantime, the song "Saturday Love" can be downloaded below. The track was originally recorded by Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle.
As previously reported, Toro y Moi will round out the year with yet another impressive batch of tour dates, including Canadian stops in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The full schedule is available below.
