While TOPS have spent much of the last year promoting their Picture You Staring LP, the lounge-leaning indie rock crew are now pushing forward with the release of a new tune. The shimmery single is called "Hollow Sound of the Morning Chimes" and you can ring it up now via an online stream.
As with other TOPS tracks, the new tune lands with a chill mix of echo-and-chorus-soaked guitar solos, '80s slow-dance rhythms, and a touch of Sade-style sensuality. Despite the appeal of Jane Penny's near-whispered lines, there's a fraught and haunted feel to her lines ("I tried to run away, I can't shake it. I'm chained to my memory").
