Tool Share Cryptic Teaser Hinting at June Announcement

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Apr 7, 2017

Just moments ago, we posted a new A Perfect Circle song, but now parent project Tool are hitting us up with a cryptic teaser teasing the date of June 24.

The image was just plastered on their website, as well as Twitter and Facebook. And as you'll see, it prominently teases the numbers "06-24," which seems very much to mean June 24. At this point, however, we have no idea what any of this means.

Of course, optimistic fans will look at this hinting at a new Tool album's release date. However, June 24 is a Saturday. And since new releases arrive on Friday, we're a bit doubtful of this.

UPDATE (4/7, 4:25 p.m. EDT): Well, we may have just got our answer here. According to the sleuths of Reddit the teaser is for a show happening in San Bernadino. So if you were hoping this was all going to lead to a new album, keep hoping.

UPDATE (4/11, 1:20 p.m. EDT): Tool have now confirmed that the teaser is indeed for a concert at the Glen Helen Amphitheater, located just outside L.A. at the San Bernardino Mountains in Devore, CA. The concert will also feature Primus, Melvins and a DJ set from the Crystal Method on June 24.

Whatever this may all mean, circle your calendars, folks, because something is coming.

You can see Tool's upcoming tour dates here. They run from May 24 to June 17, making June 24 fall after the trek is over.
