Newmarket's Tokyo Police Club have signed to Saddle Creek Records for a worldwide deal that excludes Japan, Europe and Canada.

On a MySpace bulletin, the band announced: "We are thrilled to announce that Tokyo Police Club has a new home (not literally although we are in the market for some new apartments so let us know). We have just signed to Saddle Creek Records home of such amazing artists as Bright Eyes, Cursive, The Faint, Two Gallants, and Maria Taylor."

According to their manager Rich Cohen of Team8 Management, "Tokyo will be putting out the record on their own label in Canada. We haven't figured out if its through Mean Beard or not but it won't be through Saddle Creek."

As previously reported, the band, along with Cohen and friends, have launched their own label called Mean Beard Recordings, which recently released the new Tokyo Police Club single "Your English is Good."
