Tokyo Police Club

"Your English is Good"

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jun 20, 2007

Though they're still riding out the never-ending buzz of last year's still fresh A Lesson in Crime EP, Tokyo Police Club are hard at work, not just touring the whole fucking world over, but also in the studio prepping their 2008 debut full-length. "Your English is Good” is a brand new, lone single released in the UK on Memphis Industries (July 9) and their own newly launched indie label Mean Beard (July 10) that shows the band haven’t lost their spry spirit to overwhelming global demand. There are gang vocals abound, a great 1/2/3 punch with the guitar, bass and keys, and best of all, they leave plenty of space to work with and it makes all of the difference considering it still packs quite a punch. To all of those Strokes comparisons out there, sorry you're shit outta luck - the band have moved on. They still sound incredibly young though, but the vitality now is even stronger and the proof of them growing as musicians is in both the pudding and this new chapter of their career.
