"Put Your Arms Around Me" (Stereolab / The High Llamas remix)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 9, 2015

Todd Rundgren, Hans-Peter Lindstrøm and Emil Nikolaisen's three-way collaboration just got even bigger. Following this spring's Runddans, the track "Put Your Arms Around Me" has now been remixed by British veteran pop peers Stereolab and the High Llamas.

The song was already a trippy, spaced-out tune in its original form, and this collaborative remix pushes it even further out into the cosmos. It begins with a slinky, plinky electro groove before an apreggiator takes over a minute and half in. After this, the second half of the arrangement consists of smooth crooning and soft synth work that's a lot more down-tempo than the surging pulse found on the album.

Hear it below. This track will be released on a forthcoming 12-inch along with remixes from EYE (of Boredoms) and Erol Alkan.

Runddans is available through Smalltown Supersound.
