Times New Viking Leave Matador for Merge, Prep New Dancer Equired LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 19, 2011

Back in October when we reported that ultra lo-fi Ohio ensemble Times New Viking were prepping the follow-up to their 2009 offering Born Again Revisited, we figured the band would be issuing the disc with their-then current label Matador. That apparently isn't the case anymore, as it's been announced that the group will release their new album Dancer Equired on fellow indie juggernaut Merge Records.

While a tracklisting has yet to pop up for Times New Viking's fifth full-length, Pitchfork reports that the record's first single will be "No Room to Live," a song which initially appeared on a tour-only seven-inch. You can check out a video of the song below and download it on P4K.

As far as an album release date goes, Merge will issue Dancer Equired on April 25.
