T.I. Sets Release Date for "Significant" Post-Prison Album, Preps New Mixtape

While T.I. was still serving his weapons-related prison sentence, we reported that the Atlanta rapper was transferred to a halfway house where he began writing tracks for a new album. Once the man was out of prison, it seemed like he was ready to get back to work, but as it turns out, most of the work is already done.

The rapper has given his follow-up to 2008's Paper Trail, the suitably titled King Uncaged, a release date of August 24, assuming it doesn't get pushed back a million times.

The circumstances surrounding the LP, T.I. recently argued in an interview with Rolling Stone, are not dissimilar to those surrounding the release of rap icon Tupac Shakur's 1996 post-prison classic All Eyez on Me.

"This is the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had since then," T.I. said. "Just given the enormous success of that project, everyone's expecting the same results. I just want to meet the expectations, if not surpass them."

And while we wait on that August release, T.I. is apparently dropping a new project dubbed Fuck a Mixtape with DJ Drama. Also on board are guests Lil Wayne and The-Dream, who both make appearances on the mix. In fact, that The-Dream collab, dubbed "Love Again," off the mixtape has already leaked and you can grab it here

Immediately following his prison release, T.I. dropped the single "I'm Back," which is to be featured on King Uncaged. You can hear it below:
