Thurston Moore Comes to 'Rock n Roll Consciousness' on Latest Solo LP, Shares New Song

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 22, 2017

Since releasing The Best Day back in 2014, Thurston Moore has delivered a live album, a book of lyrics and poetry and even manipulated the sounds of Bernie Sanders into a new tune. He's finally ready to follow all of that up with a new solo album, though, releasing Rock n Roll Consciousness on April 28 through Caroline International.

The five-track record doesn't include the previously unveiled "Cease Fire," but it does feature guest appearances from his former Sonic Youth colleague Steve Shelley, as well as My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe.

Peruse the brief tracklisting down below, then hit play to get the first sonic sampling from the upcoming effort in the form of a new track called "Smoke of Dreams." It's accompanied by hazy, colourful visuals of the city he's singing about — New York.

You can also find Moore's previously announced tour dates, including a sole Canadian stop in Vancouver, over here.
