Jack White's Third Man Records is cracking open the Vault for a limited release from Johnny Cash. A previously unreleased live set from the iconic songwriter, dubbed A Night to Remember, will arrive through the label as the 45th instalment of its ongoing release series.
First, some history — beginning on April 29, 1973, and lasting for another six evenings, a who's-who of artists from Columbia Records performed a series of shows at at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles called "A Week to Remember."
In addition to Cash, the series also featured Miles Davis, the Staple Singers, Bruce Springsteen, Earth, Wind and Fire and more. Below, you can find the Man In Black's setlist, which features the likes of June Carter Cash, Carl Perkins and Larry Gatlin.
Third Man's A Night to Remember package features the full multi-track recording of Cash's unreleased 1973 concert, pressed to "vintage white" vinyl and housed in a gold foil LP jacket. The package also includes a gold 7-inch featuring two unreleased Forever Words pieces by Ruston Kelly and a mystery artist, and is rounded out by a DVD of high-quality, multi-camera footage from the performance.
