"Cop Vs. Phone Girl"

After stirring up controversy by trolling a bunch of Republicans, Third Eye Blind are once again getting political with their new offering "Cop Vs. Phone Girl," a song set to appear on their upcoming EP We Are Drugs.

As a press release explains, the new track is about the attack last year at Spring Valley High in South Carolina on a student by a campus police officer. Apparently, it was an incident that struck close to home with frontman Stephan Jenkins, who once worked at a school for emotionally disturbed children.

"Sometimes, we had to restrain kids who were having violent outbursts," Jenkins said in a statement. "We were trained not to frighten them much less cause harm. The contrast really hit home to me just how surreal and insane this incident was."

You can hear "Cop Vs. Phone Girl" below.

As of yet, no firm release details have been release for We Are Drugs.
