Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra Books North American Winter Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 17, 2011

If it feels like a while since you heard from name-changing experimentalists Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, that's about to change. The long-running experimental rock unit will be hitting the road in early 2012 for a winter tour of North America.

The outing finds the Montreal-based group kicking things off in late January and playing shows until mid-February. The trip begins January 27 in Toronto, and also includes Canadian gigs in Calgary and Vancouver. Beyond that, Silver Mt. Zion will play a number of U.S. shows.

Does this tour mean that Silver Mt. Zion have a new album planned? We hope so. By the time this tour is done, 2010's Kollaps Tradixionales will be more than two years old. Given the group's steady output over the past decade-plus, we should be due for a new LP soon.

UPDATE: A pair of new Canadian dates in Ottawa and Montreal have been added to the trip.
