The Weather Station

"Floodplain" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 26, 2016

Coming off the 2015 release of her introspective and folky Loyalty LP, the Weather Station (a.k.a. Tamara Lindeman) has offered up a pensive, travelogue-style set of visuals behind the record's "Floodplain."

Directed by Maya Bankovic, the clip bounces between shots of a bundled-up Lindeman staring off into a slightly snow-touched Canadian landscape and visuals of a beach vacation in Australia. The latter was filmed by Lindeman, preserving memories a personal trip with a partner. Seen are their walks through the sand and some intimate cabin time.

The colder moments seem to reflect what once was, with Lindeman occasionally staring into the camera's eye. Of the intensity, Lindeman explained in a statement that "instead of singing the song for the camera, I thought it."
