The Sword Return with Acoustic 'Low Country' LP

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Aug 11, 2016

A little over a year after exploring the High Country, Texas doom outfit the Sword are gearing up to explore their 2015 LP in an acoustic manner with Low Country. The record is set for release next month through Razor & Tie.

Due out on September 23, the record was recorded following nine months of touring in support of High Country, with the band entering the studio to record what they call "a stripped-down acoustic presentation" of their aforementioned 2015 effort. The LP was produced by bassist Bryan Richie and mixed by J. Robbins, with album art coming from Richey Beckett.

While the band are set to support Opeth on tour this fall through North America, they've also added 10 headlining shows of their own. A first leg will run from September 23 through September 28, while the second will run from October 28 to November 1. Support on the first run will come from Ruby the Hatchet, while the second will feature C Average.

Of course, their stops in Canada will be alongside the Swedish metal giants. The band have also confirmed that all shows will be electric sets.
