They're back: storied Toronto punks the Flatliners have returned today with news of their first full-length album in five years, New Ruin, and shared anticipatory new single "Performative Hours."

Due August 5 via Fat Wreck Chords/Dine Alone, the album is the follow-up to the group's 2017 effort Inviting Light.

With raging hooks and some gnarly scream-singing from bandleader Chris Cresswell, the band delivers their anthemic punk rock signature sound on the new single. The Mitch Barnes-directed video stars Canadian actor Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll as a down-on-his-luck guy who, despite trying absolutely everything to do his best, only ever succeeds in doing the worst.

In a statement, the Flatliners said: "Enjoy the white-knuckle ride while each guest on the telecast catastrophe 'The Performative Hour' wonders how the hell they got there and what on earth will happen next."
