The Avalanches Team Up with Freddie Gibbs for "Bad Day"

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Dec 30, 2016

This year marked the return of Aussie electronic outfit the Avalanches, who made one of our top Electronic Albums of 2016 with Wildflower. Before the year is up, they've gifted listeners an unreleased cut titled "Bad Day," featuring Freddie Gibbs.

Though it is indeed listed as a "rough mix" on their SoundCloud page, the group delivered the track through their Facebook page early Friday morning (December 30), as "a Christmas jam for you all."

Despite the track's title, it's hardly a bad day when Gibbs gets together with the electronic outfit, with the Indiana MC spitting a few quick bars over dusty soul chops and a hint of the Shuggie Otis classic "Strawberry Letter 23."

This marks the second piece of music to feature Gibbs since he was freed from detainment in Europe, having teamed up with Harry Fraud back in November.
