After teasing a new album for years upon years, much-loved but long-dormant Aussie electronic outfit the Avalanches have finally made good on their promise to follow up 2000's cult classic Since I Left You. Titled Wildflower, the long-awaited new album will arrive on July 8 via Astralwerks/Modular.
To help ease the wait, the Avalanches have shared the new track "Frankie Sinatra." You can hear the song below, and as you'll see, it comes equipped with guests MF DOOM and Danny Brown. The track has also already been fitted with its very own music video, which can be found at the bottom of the page.
MF DOOM and Danny Brown are hardly the only high-profile guests on the album, however. Among the album's sprawling 22-song tracklisting, collaborators such as Father John Misty, Toro y Moi, Royal Trux's Jennifer Herrema, Camp Lo, Biz Markie, Mercury Rev's Jonathan Donahue, and Warren Ellis of Dirty Three all make an appearance. That said, the Avalanches apparently recorded tracks with Empire of the Sun, Jens Lekman, Connan Mockasin and others that did not make the final album.
Via the Avalanches' social media, the group shared the following message about Wildflower.
Down below, you'll find the album's tracklist, as well as Avalanches upcoming tour dates. Unfortunately, at this point, the band have yet to reveal any North American tour dates.
