The Amazing Race wrapped up its 31st season last night (June 26), and curiously, the reality show's season finale had a Jack White theme. Specifically, the episode involved a trip to Third Man Records and an extended rendition of the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army."

The episode took contestants to Detroit, where they went to Third Man and were tasked with pressing five of the label's signature split-colour records. White didn't appear in-person, but he was mentioned and his picture appeared.

Then, the very last challenge of the entire season took place at Detroit's Hart Plaza, where a large band were playing a marathon rendition of "Seven Nation Army" on repeat. In the midst of the noise, the contestants had to assemble a drum kit.

The episode was originally filmed last summer — at which time it made headlines over permit issues. According to the Detroit Free Press, The Amazing Race had intended to film at Detroit's Belle Isle, but the permit was denied because the show didn't indicate the large number of musicians that would be performing.

Below, see some footage of the "Seven Nation Army" performance that emerged last year.
