Mac DeMarco launched his very own record label Mac's Record Label back in 2018, yet he's only now officially signed his first artist. Today it was announced that Australian songwriter Tex Crick will release his debut album Live In... New York City on March 26 via Mac's Record Label.

For the unfamiliar, Crick has collaborated with the likes of Iggy Pop, Weyes Blood, Kirin J. Callinan and Connan Mockasin in recent years. For Live In... New York City, Crick promises to unveil his own "own fleshed-out sound."

A press release further explains: "Taking a leaf from piano-driven pop records of a bygone era, the album is an homage to sentimentality, merging classic songcraft with a naturally delicate approach to instrumentation."

For a taste of that, you can hear the record's lead single "Sometimes I Forget," which has arrived via a new video.

The clip was filmed south of Tokyo, where Crick has been living with his girlfriend, as travel restrictions kept him from leaving Japan. It was directed by Monika Mogi on Muira Beach, and you can watch the video below.
