Earlier this year, Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake, the Sadies' Mike Belitsky and Joe Pernice released their debut EP under the name the New Mendicants. Now, the trio are preparing to drop their debut album. Into the Lime is due out on January 28 through Ashmont Records/XPT Records, and it will be preceded by a two-song holiday single.

The album was recorded and mixed at Spaghetti in Kitchener, ON. The trio receive joint songwriting for nine of the 10 tunes on the album, while "By the Time It Gets Dark" is a Sandy Denny cover. A few of the songs from the prior Australia 2013 EP re-emerge here.

A press release describes the album like this: "Featuring nine original nuggets of effervescent Hollies-style guitar pop laced with Simon and Garfunkel-esque vocal interplay... Into the Lime is served up with a side of lyrical humour and a delicious sprinkle of darkness."

Scroll past the tracklist to hear the album cut "A Very Sorry Christmas." This song will be released as a digital single on December 23, backed with a tune called "A Very Sorry New Years."
