Taylor Swift's Latest Single Makes El-P Want to Leave New York City

Country superstar Taylor Swift has been embracing her inner pop diva since 2012's Red, but it seems she won't be making a fan out of Brooklyn-based Run the Jewels rapper El-P any time soon.

Swift is gearing up to release her new album 1989 on October 27, but her latest single "Welcome to New York" isn't sitting well with El-P. He took to Twitter to let fans know what he thought of Swift's sugary-sweet synth-pop ode to the Big Apple.

Unfortunately for noted cat lover Swift, it looks as if she won't be getting an invite to collaborate on El-P's upcoming Run the Jewels album remixed entirely using cat sounds.

Meow the Jewels has reached its crowdfunding goal and been given the green light, though an official release date has yet to be announced. RTJ2 (not featuring cats) is slated to arrive on October 28 via Mass Appeal Records.
