Tanya Tagaq and Buffy Sainte-Marie Are Recording Together

Around this time last year, news broke that Buffy Sainte-Marie was at work on new music with both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Owen Pallett following her 2015 Polaris Music Prize win. This time around, Sainte-Marie is at work with a fellow Polaris victor in Tanya Tagaq.Tagaq, who won the prize in 2014 with Animism, revealed the collaboration on Twitter today (November 1). While it remains to be seen where the recordings will end up, one would think Sainte-Marie could be at work on a follow-up to 2015's Power in the Blood. Tagaq's fourth LP, Retribution, arrived last month.
