Tame Impala Spinoff Pond Announce 'Man It Feels Like Space Again,' Share New Video
Published Oct 20, 2014The explosion of Tame Impala in the last couple of years has also shined a light on Pond, a spin-off band featuring many of the same members. Now, Pond have returned for a new LP. Man It Feels Like Space Again will drop on January 27 in North America, a day earlier in the UK and January 23 in Australia.
That's the album cover above and the tracklist below. In the tracklist, take special note of the song "Heroic Shart" (and consult Urban Dictionary if you're not familiar with the word "shart").
At the bottom of this page, watch a silly, lo-fi video for the spaced-out cut "Elvis' Flaming Star." The band described the clip with the following statement:
Well shit in my hat and call it lightly braised cuttlefish with lavender crème fraîche, they let us make another album. We celebrate this historic occasion with our video for the song entitled 'Elvis' Flaming Star,' which will be on Man It Feels Like Space Again. It is a piece of generation defining audio-visual art that will change our cultural landscape forever. We here in this van are all well excited about it, so please have as much fun watching it as we did making it and if you don't, go get your friends, dress up in silly clothes and attack each other with silly string and water balloons.
Also below, see the band's North American tour schedule, which includes fast-approaching shows in Toronto and Montreal.
This is the follow-up to 2013's Hobo Rocket. The Future Heart notes that these songs were actually written before those on Hobo Rocket, although they were recorded after.
