Taking Back Sunday and the Used Join Forces for North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 28, 2014

With both Long Island post-hardcore outfit Taking Back Sunday and Utah's the Used set to issue new albums this spring through Hopeless Records, the labelmates have decided to team up to showcase their goods on a North American tour.

The acts get out on the road together in the middle of March, with a string of U.S. shows eventually leading into Canada by April. The lone up-north appearance takes place at Toronto's Kool Haus on April 8, and following that the bands will jump back into the U.S. for another handful of shows.

You'll find the itinerary down below. Also joining the tour will be openers Tonight Alive and Sleepwave.

As previously reported, Taking Back Sunday's Happiness Is arrives March 18, just a few days after the tour starts. The record is their sixth full-length studio effort and features a series of "melodic moments and moody breakdowns," as well as an "ambient ballad." You can sample the first single from the set, "Flicker, Fade" in the video down below.

As for the Used, their Imaginary Enemy lands a couple weeks later on April 1. The album is their first since 2012's Vulnerable, and it apparently finds the rock quartet exploring and understanding their surroundings through song.

"We the people, in order to form a more perfect planet, must question the way the world works — and where the world is heading," vocalist Bert McCracken had previously theorized in a statement. "Some view art as a way of escaping reality; others view art as a mirror reflecting our sometimes sad society; we believe art can be a weapon, used to shape the very world we live in."

The Used premiered their new, explosive video for "Cry" earlier this week. You can likewise check out the clip at the bottom of the page.
