Fresh off sharing new music with System of a Down to bring attention to Armenian conflict, drummer John Dolmayan would now like to turn your attention to the great American injustice of his preferred presidential candidate losing the 2020 election.
Dolmayan's support of Donald Trump — whom he has in the past called "the greatest friend of minorities" — has continued in spite of Joe Biden capturing the United States presidency this weekend.
On Saturday (November 7), the SOAD beatkeeper urged followers to support Trump, while propping up widely debunked allegations of voter fraud. He wrote on Instagram, "This election is not over nor should it be without complete transparency."
"If the will of the American people is that Joe Biden is president then so be it but only if he achieved this without fraud or collusion," Dolmayan writes, continuing to rail against those rightfully critical of his single-term presidency while warning, "If Biden wins all of these protests will disappear and there will be a quick end to the pandemic, don't fall for it."
Trump has yet to concede the 2020 election in spite of the results. As his administration and supporters continue to engage with disinformation and conspiracy theories as several states still count votes, election officials have not reported any instances of fraud or collusion.
More recently, Dolmayan suggested in a separate post yesterday (November 8) that the Republican governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu, has ties to a mining company that will benefit from the attacks on Artsakh. "Shameful," he wrote. "If you follow the money you'll always find the root of all conflicts."
System of a Down's "Protect the Land" and "Genocidal Humanoidz" mark the group's first new music in 15 years, following 2005 albums Mezmerize and Hypnotize.
