System of a Down's John Dolmayan Defends Gina Carano: "Condemn the Cowards Who Instituted Woke Justice Against Her"

"It takes a lot of guts to put your career on the line for your convictions"

System of a Down drummer and controversial human being John Dolmayan has come to the defence of disgraced Mandalorian actress Gina Carano, after Disney+ fired her following some anti-Semitic, anti-mask and transphobic social media claims from earlier this week.

"It takes a lot of guts to put your career on the line for your convictions," Dolmayan wrote in defence of the actress. "History will honour people like [Gina Carano] and condemn the cowards who instituted woke justice against her."

This isn't the first time Dolmayan has aligned himself with questionable theories and people. A known Trump supporter, Dolmayan has been a crusader in the anti-SJW movement for quite some time.

Last year, he called the former president "the greatest friend to minorities" amid the wave of anti-racist protests in the States. He also said that the Black Lives Matter movement was a "democratic propaganda tool" and bolstered theories about the American election being rigged. Look no further than his personal Instagram for more far-right conspiracies.

Despite vastly differing political alignments within the band, Dolmayan has not yet been ousted from System of a Down. Frontman Serj Tankian is conversely plotting the release of his new documentary Truth to Power, which explores "his passion for human rights and activism" and is due to be released next week via Oscilloscope and Live Nation.
