'Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning' Now Has a Trailer and Release Date

The Lifetime event kicks off January 2

Following the explosive Surviving R. Kelly, Lifetime announced it would release a follow-up special to the documentary series. Part II now has an official release date. as well as its own trailer.

Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning is set to arrive on January 2 and will take a look at the events following the release of Part I, including the multiple new charges laid against R. Kelly in the wake of the series, testimonies from new accusers, and documentation of the gun threat that followed the docuseries' first screening in New York.

Lifetime promises "more insights into the ever-growing saga of the R&B singer, who is currently facing federal and state charges," stating in a press release that series aims to uncover "new stories with revealing details and explore why the voices of the girls that spoke up decades ago are only now being heard."

Taking part in the series are industry executives Damon Dash and Mathew Knowles, #MeToo founder Tarana Burke, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Angela Yee, State Attorney for Cook County Kimberly M. Foxx and more.

Lifetime will air the six-hour series in three parts, starting at 9 p.m. EST on January 2, with its subsequent episodes on January 3 and 4.
