Sufjan Stevens, Yo La Tengo, Jay Reatard and More Added to Pop Montreal Line-Up

The last we heard, the 2009 rendition of the annual Pop Montreal festival was looking pretty huge, with confirmed acts like Dinosaur Jr., Butthole Surfers, Os Mutantes, Matt & Kim, Faust and a whole bunch more. Now, however, the fest has been given a major overhaul.

Added to the list of performers are some people you may have heard of, including Sufjan Stevens, Yo La Tengo, Jay Reatard, Micachu & the Shapes, Japandroids, Dragonette, Young Galaxy and hometown heroes AIDS Wolf. Seriously, that places the Pop Montreal line-up somewhere firmly between amazing and unreal.

If you've yet to pick up a pass to this year's event, you can grab one up here. Pop Montreal 2009 runs from September 30 to October 4.

UPDATE: Via Dinosaur Jr.'s website, the band have announced that they have had to postpone their October 1 Montreal show, as well as their date in Toronto on September 30. According to the post, the tour stops have been postponed "due to an unforeseen issue that demands one of the band members be in Los Angeles on these dates to deal with a health issue." The group plan to make up the dates in January 2010. [Thanks to reader Alan Dodson for the tip.]
