Strung Out Detail Reissue Series and 'Volume One' Box Set

Fat Wreck Chords has finally affixed all the goodies from California pop-punk vets Strung Out's previously teased, back catalogue-exploring reissue series with an April 1 due date.

Plans for the series were uncovered nearly a year ago, with the label noting that "special treatment" would soon be given to the act's 1994 debut Another Day in Paradise, as well as 1996's Suburban Wasteland Blues and 1998's Twisted by Design. All three albums have been remixed and remastered by producer Ryan Greene for separate CD and vinyl reissues, but will also be collected in the Volume One box set.

The CD pressing of Another Day in Paradise tacks on the group's The Skinny Years… Before We Got Fat compilation, while a stand-alone, first-ever 12-inch pressing of the collection will be included in the vinyl box set. The Suburban Wasteland Blues repress features bonus track "Jacqueline," while Twisted by Design adds two cuts ("Barfly," "Ghost Town").

The original artwork for each album has been rescanned for the reissues, and a series of never-before-seen photos and liner notes from the band will also be preserved in the tweaked-up packaging.

Also included in Volume One is a DVD featuring a "professionally filmed" concert from 2012, when the band played Suburban Wasteland Blues and Twisted by Design in full, as well as '90s-era footage of "shows, tour antics, interviews [and] behind the scenes stuff."

Strung Out are pointing to the vintage footage and period-specific songs as being a tribute to the band's bassist Jim Cherry, who passed away in 1999.

"This box set is as much for Jim as it is for you," vocalist Jason Cruz said in a statement.
