Strange Boys Line Up New Album for 2010, Open for Julian Casablancas in Vancouver

Fantastic psych garage team the Strange Boys have announced the details for their follow-up to this year's stellar Strange Boys and Girls Club LP. Titled Be Brave, the record is due out in North America on February 23 via their label home of In the Red. The band have also secured a deal with Rough Trade for the UK and Europe release.

While little is known about Be Brave, the Strange Boys' booking agent, Panache, has a quote from front-man Ryan Sambol on the new record. He describes the writing and recording of Be Brave as a fast process, saying, "We got back from Europe and I worked out the songs that I had already started, wrote some more and sent cassette tapes of the songs to Tim, Jenna and Seth. When they got the tapes they all called me back and said they didn't know what they were going to play, but they were interested to try. Then the three of us, Greg, Philip and I, drove out from Austin and played a few shows to get to L.A. We met up with Tim, Jenna and Seth, went over to our friend John's house, and rehearsed for a couple hours. The next day, we played Fuck Yeah Fest, two days later we went to Costa Mesa, and two weeks later we came out with Be Brave."

We'll just have to wait until early next year to see how that hasty process will affect the band's sound.

Strange Boys will also be embarking on a brief North American tour, where they'll be joining Julian Casablancas for a handful of dates, including one in Vancouver on November 23.
