Stone Roses' Ian Brown Avoids Giving His Kids Allowances, Gets Them to Sell Posters of Him on eBay for Pocket Money

One of the worst things about being a parent has to be allowances. Seriously, dishing out that so-called "pocket money" on a weekly basis must be a real drag. You just know the kid is going to blow it, wasting your hard-earned cash on Slurpees, Ring Dings and god knows what other junk. Well, former Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has found a way to avoid this painful ritual.

"My kids... have started selling posters of me on eBay," Brown recently told The Quietus. "They get me to sign them and then sell them online for £10. It saves me having to give them [pocket] money!"

The one-time Madchester flag-bearer made this comment while attending Mick Jones's Rock N Roll Public Library earlier this week, where Brown said he was impressed by the the Clash guitarist's collection of memorabilia. He said he has "loads of Roses stuff at home" and that perhaps he should do a similar exhibition.

However, we're guessing his kids may need all that Roses swag if they hope to save enough money to go to college.
