St. Vincent Crowned 2017 Record Store Day Ambassador with Hilarious 'Funny or Die' Sketch

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 10, 2017

St. Vincent is no stranger to Record Store Day, having participated with her own special releases on multiple occasions, so it's only fitting that the musician (real name Annie Clark) has been appointed 2017's official Record Store Day Ambassador.

Her first action under the new title finds her starring in a new clip for Funny or Die. The bit is titled "St. Vincent Becomes Ambassador to Recorstorda," and that's precisely what happens in the short clip.

Clark meets with her agent (straight after a New York Pilates class by the looks of it) and gets her own brand of wine before being shipped out as the ambassador to the eastern European nation of Recorstorda.

Yes, if you add a few letters and spaces, that spells out Record Store Day. Meet the new ambassador and watch her train for the job in the Funny or Die sketch below.

Clark's position was inherited from Metallica, while other artists like Jack White, Iggy Pop and Dave Grohl have touted the title in the past.

Record Store Day 2017 will celebrate its 10th anniversary on April 22.
